Responsibilities:
This person will have overall responsibility for releases to client environments working collaboratively with the Agile project teams to ensure releases meet expected availability SLA's and can reliably have code deployed using automated/manual processes. When problems arise in these environments you quickly trouble-shoot and resolve those issues to minimize impact to the cross-functional project teams. You will also help maintain release notes & calendars, track changes across project build environments, build status, and artifact information (i.e. build details).
Become an integrated member of the team
Manage, deploy and support multiple concurrent releases through various environments
Manage and maintain multiple environments, ensuring that these environments are properly setup, configured, and available for each project as scheduled
Create, publish and manage formal release notification, instructions, deployment notes and launch plans as needed
Support and enhance build and release processes through automation using a combination of processes, existing tools and enhancements
Works closely with Development Q/A team to maintain and manage source control
Coordinate release activities with the cross-functional Agile project teams to ensure a smooth and trouble free roll out of releases
Document processes and procedures as needed
Ensure that basic change management steps are documented and followed
Provide occasional weekend and late night support
REQUIREMENTS:
Extremely detail oriented personality with ability to maintain strict schedules.
Top notch problem solving skills
Experience working collaboratively with Agile teams and a strong desire to do so
Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to juggle numerous tasks at once while meeting business critical timelines
Excellent understanding of a wide variety of systems administration utilities and tools
Solid understanding and practical experience of software development life cycles, with particular emphasis on release engineering functions
Experience working with rapid, overlapping product release cycles
In depth understanding of the principles and best practices of Software Configuration
Desirable:
Salesforce experience
Experience with Apache Ant
Professional Services experience in a software development environment with a focus on release management
Project or Release management experience
